Did you know that by the time you experience the sensation of thirst, you are already dehydrated. Your body is craving for you to quench that thirst by re-hydrating!
Unfortunately, most of us spend most of our day’s not drinking enough water. When you are dehydrated, you are affecting the performance of your body.
Instead of grabbing a high calorie soda or sugary fruit juice, just drink WATER! Water can help control your appetite and weight, improve your sleep and energy levels, and so much more…
My drink of choice is water, but it’s sometimes hard for me to drink enough. Here are some tips that have helped me chug a little more H2O throughout the day!
1. Start your day by drinking a glass of water. When you wake up, hit that alarm and CHUG! Before you take a shower or brush your teeth fill a glass with water and start drinking. Start by drinking one glass. When you are done with that glass fill it up again and continue drinking as you are getting ready for your day. Who knows you may end up drinking more than one glass before you even leave the house!
2.Add a hint of flavor. Infuse your water with lemon or orange wedges, cucumber, or mint. You could even use berries. One of my favorites is cucumber, lemon and mint.
3. If you like some fizz... try sparkling water. Get all the benefits of being calorie free but satisfy your fizz craving.
4. Dress up your water. We all feel good when we get a new outfit, so why not dress up your water? No more boring plastic water bottles, instead find a fun, maybe colorful reusable water bottle that you can tote around with you.
5. Set Reminders. Keep yourself in check by setting reminders on your phone or on your computer.
